According to Shooting Wire, Cerberus Capital Management has acquired the assets of DPMS. This adds another AR-15 specialty manufacturer to Cerberus' fold in addition to Bushmaster Firearms. This third firearm industry purchase (the other is Remington) kind of makes one wonder in what direction Cerberus intends to take these companies. Remington is already offering the R-15 rifle that appears to be a re-branded camo Varminter. There has been some speculation that Cerberus may be gearing up to grab a share of the government's contracts.
I guess only time will tell.
